Our Mission

The Warren Consolidated Schools Nutrition Services believes:
A Nourished Student Is A Learning Student.

Our mission is to offer a variety of quality, healthy food choices with excellent service in a friendly environment. We take pride in "feeding" the minds of the future.

Our dedicated staff serves over 2500 school breakfasts and 8000 school lunches daily. In addition to school meals, our department provides meals for Macomb County’s Meals on Wheels program, handles the district’s catering, provides lunches for Head Start Programs, and makes prepacked meals for the six Macomb Intermediate School District schools.

Our professional staff have acquired numerous hours of training centered around sanitation and safety, proper food handling, and customer service. We provide well-balanced, nutritional meals to help ensure student success in academic, athletic, and personal growth.

School Breakfasts Are Changing

School meals are being re-imagined to match the latest nutrition guidelines, feedback from kids and families, and years of research. These changes may seem big, but they will happen gradually over the next four years.

New updates to school meals give kids the right mix of nutrients while cutting down on added sugars, especially at breakfast.

A few nutrition changes for school breakfasts include:

Lowering sugar in cereal, yogurt, and flavored milk
Offering more proteins and whole grains
Reducing salt content
Substituting vegetables for fruit

Start your day with a healthy breakfast

Warren Consolidated School Nutrition Services Department offers a variety of easy to eat nutritional breakfasts served out of the cafeteria each morning 15 minutes prior to the start of school.

Our school breakfast program gives hardworking parents a hand in meeting their child’s nutritional needs without interrupting the school day or taking away from important learning time.

We recognize the established link between eating a healthy breakfast and academic success, and encourage all students to eat breakfast whether at home or at school. Students who routinely start their day with a good breakfast will learn healthy eating habits that will serve a lifetime.

WCS offers free breakfast to all students.
